Yeah, it's still tier 1 as of rn. So not seeing it was surprising. It was nice to take a break from all the Yubels.
All things considered, this seems like the kind of meta game spread we'd want in a healthy format.

I'm not sure whether to be impressed at how well most of the tops were or to be disappointed at the tenpai misplays (not like it mattered much) but regardless I'm happy to see tenpai isn't as "the Bringer of death and destruction" as people made it out to be.
as you said, lots of tenpai missplays and they are still most represented in top 16 with the second place, a top 4 and a top 8, that when the deck should be at a disadvantage when the oponent knows before the duel they will play tenpai and in a best of 3, much different than the ranked experience.
I don't think it's fair to just highlight Tenpai's misplays and attribute that to why they didn't win or get represented more. Every deck misplayed to some degree, it's just the part of the game. Tenpai just has such a target on its back so their misplays are way more highlighted. Just because it has "easy" lines, people forget it can be incredibly complex when you're trying to play around certain cards you don't know the opponent might have.
Yeaaah.. to add on to what Gab said, this absolutely does not represent the ladder experience on MD lmao. Tenpai and Yubel are very much still the best decks, and Tenpai is **** near the bringer of death and destruction on ladder. Oh, and I'm not even going to mention the literal Tenpai event going on right now... If there wasn't a Centurion loaner and free Swordsoul deck, Tenpai would be like 98% of all the synchro decks, and synchro is still 1.5-2x as popular as the other 2, and that is without Maxx C which makes Tenpai inherently worse and almost every other deck better. I'm not really complaining considering I win at least half my matches against the dragons (Kash player, and Yubel is actually a worse matchup for me) but **** is it extremely powerful
I didn't watch the whole thing, but the info was that the source does not want to mess November and December packs. Only sort of hint was when he answered the question "fiendsmith when" - "sooner than you think... or not"
