Notes & Combos
In general:
Made it to Master I with VV for the first time...
Voiceless Voice is an extremely resilient deck that plays some good, rewarding games of Yu-Gi-Oh. If you want a consistent and powerful deck that rewards you for knowing it inside-out and allows you to flex your skill as a player, this is as good a choice as any.
Plays well into Tenpai with cards like Pendulumgraph negating Kaimen or Summoning and then bringing out Meteorburst to shut them down in the battlephase. Also hard to completely boardbreak since there's so much layered interaction betwen handtraps, backrow, and monsters on board.
Regarding some deckbuilding choices:
- I arrived at 45 due to the abundance of cards we absolutely do not want to open. Driver, Maximus, Radiance, Blessing, Old Man Sauravis, Trias, etc. This also makes it less likely to draw into Triple Tac off Triple Tac.
- Opening Maximus and Nadir Servant inflicts a certain damage upon one's soul... Even then it's not always the worst because you can put Maximus in the grave as a tribute for a ritual summon, turning Nadir back on.
- Starting Trias is not always bad either, as it can be used to dodge targetted effects on your Lo/Diviner and allows your Diviner to dump something else.
- Heard of some players cutting Old Man Sauravis, but I think he deserves a spot. Kinda a win more card as a combo piece, but where he proves invaluable is recurring Blessing if it gets popped (and it will get popped if your opponent knows the deck well).
- Gamma is extremely good in this deck; Pre-prep, Barrier, Saffira, and Nadir are all Ash magnets that don't commit a monster to the board. Baiting a response and then resolving Gamma into Omega rip will usually win you the game unless the rest of your hand is booty.
- I don't see Magnamhut in a lot of VV decks, maybe because its useless against Tenpai? IDK. Opening it going second against most things gives you another interruption and adds Saffira to combo with, Sauravis to protect your combos, or Pendulumgraph if the rest of your hand is just absolutely cracked anyway. Can be used to synchro Omega with Diviner I guess?
- The Nadir Servant package is just too good not to play. Going first it's a +2.5 (Garura draw 1, Arc Light add, Ferrijit draw 1 return 1) and going second it just chews through your opponent's interaction before you commit to playing VV cards.
- White Woman Jumpscare because I can't just can't accept a loss to some Crooked Cook lookin' jawn
